Below are the initial three steps of the battery cell module process within the battery energy storage system:
1. Sorting of battery cells
Cell manufacturers generally group cells according to voltage, internal resistance and capacity specifications before shipment, but the needs of system integration manufacturers are different. Considering factors such as manufacturing process, cost, cell performance, etc., during module production, system integration manufacturers will re-sort and group cells according to their own standards.
2. Cleaning of battery cell plasma
Plasma cleaning can effectively remove organic matter and tiny particles on the surface of the battery cell, improve the reliability of subsequent laser welding and the stability of module adhesion. Whether the battery cell surface is clean will directly affect the reliability and durability of the module connection.
Plasma cleaning technology is the most thorough stripping cleaning technology among all cleaning methods, and its biggest advantage is that there is no waste liquid after cleaning. The biggest feature is that it can handle metals, semiconductors, oxides and most polymer materials well, and can also achieve overall, local and other complex structures' cleaning.
3. Gluing of battery cells
Gluing of battery cells has two main purposes. One is to fix the battery cells to prevent them from moving out of position. The other is to transfer the heat of the battery cells and modules through glue. The main performance indicators of glue include adhesion, shear strength, thermal conductivity, aging resistance, electrical insulation, flame retardancy, life, etc.
